AstroPark League Playing Rules

Payments and Cancellations
· All league games must be paid in advance. The cost of the payment is €600 for which includes your registration fee, referees costs and 11 group games. This is based on a 12 team group and could vary dependant upon the amount of teams in your group.
· Full Payment must be made by the night of the teams First Fixture
· Teams must be on time and will be allowed 15 minutes to account for any delays before which they must be on the pitch and ready to play, otherwise a walkover will be awarded.
· Any team that cancels their fixture will automatically forfeit that payment.
· Any team that obtains two late cancellations against them can be expelled from the league.
· If a team fails to notify Astropark of their non-attendance of a fixture it will result in their expulsion from the league.
· No pro or semi-pro players are allowed to participate in Astropark leagues.
· Teams should check the time of their next fixture after every game.
· If your team has a walkover you will be notified in advance and we will endeavour to arrange a friendly for you. If a friendly is not possible the pitch will be made available to you. No refunds are given.

3 Strike Rule
· The referee will now also report on player and team behaviour after the game.
· Should an incident of threatening, violent, abusive or any ill discipline in general be reported, that team will receive its first strike.
· If a team accumulates 3 strikes they will be expelled from the league.

Goalkeepers & inside the D
· Goalkeepers must not hold the ball for more than six seconds
· Once the ball is out of the Goalkeepers hands, it is deemed in play.
· Goalkeepers must return the ball into play by an under-arm bowling action or else drop the ball to their feet.
· Goalkeepers cannot pick up a back-pass
· Goalkeepers cannot leave the D. For persistent offenders, the Ref can send a player off.
· If the ball hits the side netting of the goal at any stage, the ball is deemed out of play and is in the Goalkeepers possession.
· Goalkeepers must stay on their line for penalties
· Goalkeepers cannot slide tackle any player.

Free Kicks & Penalties (outfield players)
· Strictly no slide tackling. (including Goalkeepers)
· Strictly no charging against the hoardings/Boards
· If any of the above two fouls are made with malicious intent the referee is permitted to issue a yellow or Red card.
· No Handling of the Ball by an outfield player
· No offside rule.
· For free kicks, the defending team must take four steps back from the ball.

Yellow & Red Cards
· A yellow card will be issued to any player guilty of a dangerous challenge, persistent fouling, verbal abuse or any action deemed cautionable by the referee.
· When a yellow card is issued, it will result in the player being sin binned for a period of time at the referee’s discretion (2-10 minutes). The players team will play for the sin-bin time with 4 players.
· A Red Card can be issued if the referee feels the offence warrants a sending off
· A Red Card will mean that the team will play the rest of the match with 4 players.
· All Cards are issued at the discretion of the referee. Repeated gaining of Red Cards or Yellow Cards by any team can result in point deduction or expulsion from league.


High Ball Rule
· A high Ball rule applies; if the ball goes above the hoarding surrounding the playing area, a free kick will be awarded from where the ball was kicked.
· If the ball is deflected there is no free (e.g. from a tackle or deflected shot or pass)
· If the offence occurs inside the D the free will be from the edge of the D

Team
· Each team will consist of 10 players, any 5 playing at one time. The 10 players can vary from week to week.

Scoring
· To Score a Goal, the ball must be inside the D when kicked. On the line, means inside.
· Any shot that is from outside the D and deflects off ANY player inside the D and into the goal, is a Goal. Deflections outside the D is not a goal.

Points System
· 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw.
· Goal Difference does count

General Astropark Rules
· No Refixing Games
· No Football Boots of any kind allowed, including Studs, Blades, Moulded Studs. Astropark recommends wearing Astroturf runners.

Prize Rules & Terms & Conditions
· The 10 Players that play in the final game will be the 10 players that will be eligible for divisional & spot prizes.
· All Players must be over 18 years of age.

Astropark Rules
·        Teams are asked to play in a sportsman like manner and to abide by the rules. The appointed referee will have the right to dismiss any Player or Team from the game that they are not entering into the spirit of the competition. Management will have the right to dismiss any Player or Team from the league for the above reason.
·        Any verbal or physical abuse of any referee or staff member will result in expulsion from the League. Management take a very harsh view on this matter and will not tolerate any abuse of this rule.
·        Astropark reserve the right to abandon any game which we feel is not being played in a sportsmanlike manner. The game will then be internally reviewed on CCTV by Astropark and the result decided upon. The referee can decide on behalf of Astropark to abandon the game.
·        Astropark reserves the right to abandon any game which we feel the referee is being verbally abused. This includes players and people on the sidelines and team members will be responsible for anyone who is being abusive from outside the pitch.
·        Referee’s will be monitored on a week to week basis and assessed by Astropark staff to ensure good quality control. If any referee is deemed not to be up to our high standards, they will not be used again by Astropark.
·        Please remember without the referees the league would not be able to go ahead!!!

A copy of these rules will be given to each team captain and will also be posted on our notice boards and website. Please ensure that all players have read through the rules completely and fully understand their meaning. Any queries on the rules can be answered on the night by the Astropark staff or the referee.
