Terms and Conditions of of Irish Sun FAI Fives League:
All teams must pay in advance for the league or agree to instalment payments. Leagues will last from 6-10 weeks, depending on the league location and quantity of teams taking part. The total price based on an 10 week league is €450 (incl 9% VAT on league cost plus referees costs) which includes 10 games and regional / national finals day for qualifiers. 8 week league will be €400. 6 week league will be €300. Based on an 8 man squad, each person will pay €56.25 at the start of the league. Payment is made on the league website or by calling 0818501555.
The League will commence on different days depending on the venue you choose, and the night you choose to play. Nationwide, start dates will vary from Monday the 30th April. Tallaght and Coolock leagues will start week commencing 23rd April. Leagues will run on a group/round robin/knock out basis depending on the number of teams in your group. You will be informed of the league format once the league starts and the number of teams has been confirmed.
Games kick off times are between 6.30pm and 9.30pm on your chosen night (can vary slightly depending on venue). All teams must be able to play between and including these times. Games will be one hour in duration.
Team registration for 5-a-side will be for 8 players (3 subs), who will be eligible for prizes at end of league season. If you play at a 6-a-side venue you will register 9 players (3 subs, and if you play at a 7-a-side venue you will register 10 players (3 subs).
FAI 5s reserve the right to re-structure the league if a team pulls out during the league
There will be one winner per night at each venue, who will be invited to attend the national finals inDublin. One group may need to play against another to decide the nights winner. Venue winners will receive trophies & medals.
The overall mens winners will play in the Aviva Stadium finals in Summer 2012. The top mens prize is €1000 cash prize and a corporate box at the Aviva stadium for 12 people for a Republic of Ireland Match (F&B not included). The womens league winners will get premium tickets for a game, free entry into the next league, and will play in the Aviva stadium in summer 2012.
Any team cancellations will result in a forfeit of payment.
If a team gives your team a walkover, then you will be allowed use the pitch and we will endeavor to organise a friendly. No money will be refunded or credits given.
We recommend that all teams use www.teamer.net which makes it easier for you to organize your team on a weekly basis.
All teams entering must agree to abide by the League rules, which will be emailed to team captains and participants at the start of the league. Failure to abide by the rules may result with expulsion from the league and no refund.
No pro or semi-pro players under contract are allowed to participate in Irish Sun FAI 5s league.
No team names that can be deemed offensive, or taking the name of a category competitor of the title sponsor.
All attempts will be made to facilitate your preferred standard however because of demand for certain nights by teams of a mixed standard, we cannot guarantee that you will always play against teams of your preferred standard.
The first game of the season may be used as a seeding game and your team may be asked to move to another group if you are deemed to be more suited in another group.
All league players should sign up as members to our website and on facebook so that they can access results/ tables/ fixtures/ photos/ competitions etc.
Team members may be contacted by Astropark by telephone, email, or text regarding fixtures, league news or upcoming leagues/matches/blitzes.
There is limited availability for team registration and leagues will be arranged on a first come first serve basis.
The captain is responsible for checking league fixtures and ensuring that the team turns up on time. Games will not be re-fixed if the captain or team have not checked their fixture correctly on www.5s.ie
While this league is being run by Astropark with the support of the FAI, the FAI rules do not apply to this League or its participants.
Once the leagues commence no refund will be given for any team pulling out of the competition.
Local venue regulations will apply where applicable.
Astropark and the FAI (National Fives league organizers) shall not accept responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to person or property caused by or arising from directly or indirectly, the negligence, willful act or default, breach of statutory duty or breach of contract of the company, its servants, agents, licensees or invitees on or in the approaches of or to its property or property rented for the purposes of operating this league.
The League Team shall indemnify Astropark (National Fives league organizers) and the FAI and keep them indemnified from and against all claims, demands and proceedings (and costs including legal costs associated with same) taken by league team members, in respect of any loss or injury sustained. In this regard, the league team captain or organizer will commit to informing all team members of the terms & conditions of this league.
The League Team hereby acknowledges, without prejudice to other clauses, that football is by definition a contact sport. Astropark and FAI (National Fives league organisers) shall not indemnify team players from any injury suffered in the use of the facilities used by the company, in the pursuit of the National Fives League. The league organizers recommend to its league team participants that that they take out a team sports injury insurance policy to indemnify them in respect of any such injuries. The league team accepts and acknowledges this recommendation and accepts that these policies are available in the market place. We do not recommend any particular company and there are many options on the market but there are policies available from O'Driscoll O'Neil Ltd, 17 Herbert Place, Dublin 2, P: 01-6395801.
Astropark and the FAI will rent pitches at local 5-a-side, artificial turf venues but will not be responsible for the local venue negligence, willful act or default, breach of duty, breach of statutory duty of its employees, agents, licenses, invitees, on its property.
The person registering the team, by the act of so doing, will be Acting Team Captain and will be responsible for ensuring that he and the team fully understand all the entry terms & conditions and the playing rules of this league, and will be responsible for ensuring respect for the Referee and all his/her decisions.
All games will be refereed and the referee's decision will be final. The organisers reserve the right to review games with excessive behaviour and act appropriately if the match is not played in a sporting manner. Action to be taken may include up to and including expulsion of a player or the entire team from the league, if deemed to be in the best interest of the league.
